Who writes our content
Our articles are written by medical students and a medical assistant on our team. You can see each writer’s role on every article and on our About page.
Medical review
Every article is reviewed by a physician on our team before it is published. The reviewer checks that the information is accurate, up to date and clearly explained. Each article shows the name of the reviewing doctor and the date of the review. A doctor never reviews their own article; it is reviewed by another physician on our team.
Sources
We rely on government health agencies (CDC, NIH, NHLBI, FDA), professional society guidelines such as those of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians, and peer-reviewed studies. We list sources on our articles and avoid claims we can’t support.
Writing standards
- Plain language, with medical terms explained the first time they appear.
- Every article shows its author, medical reviewer, publish date and last-updated date.
- We clearly mark urgent warning signs and when to seek emergency care.
- We do not give personal medical advice, and our content does not replace a visit to your doctor.
Updates and corrections
We review articles when medical guidelines change. When an article is updated, a physician reviews the changes and we update the review date. If you spot an error, email pulmonaryguide@gmail.com or use our contact form. We correct confirmed errors promptly.
Doctor directory
Listings are built from official practice and hospital websites and state medical board records. Each profile shows when our team last checked it. Doctors can submit corrections, which we verify before publishing. Patient reviews are moderated and may not include private medical details.
Advertising and sponsorship
Ads are shown by Google AdSense and labeled “Advertisement”. Sponsored doctor listings are labeled “Sponsored”. Advertisers and sponsors never influence our articles, medical reviews, ratings or which doctors we list.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with drafting and editing. Every article is checked by our writers against the listed sources and reviewed by a physician before it is published. Our team is responsible for everything we publish.
